Puzzle Definition
In this blog I discuss puzzles for the iPhone. However, I am using a rather strict definition of what kind of puzzles are being discussed. The following restrictions give a good impression of the kind of puzzles I might take up (or have taken up), though none of these restrictions will be followed blindly:
- No opponents: a puzzle is you against the puzzle, not you against some artificial intelligence;
- No dexterity: the problem of the puzzles should be logical, and the solution should not require a steady hand or quick reflexes;
- No open end play – puzzle should have an inherent end point;
- No Sudoku: there is already too much talk about this. Expect many posts about similar, but much more interesting puzzles;
- No word puzzles: no real reason to exclude those other than that I do not particularly like them.
